1st Dan Adam Bernardino's introduction to the martial arts' began in his native Mexican in the years 1983-1990, when he trained with a fly-weight boxing champion. He attended several tournaments in both Mexico and the U.S., and learned much from the experience.

In 1998 Adam started training in Taekwondo with Grand Master Shin at Hwa Rang Kwan, and in 2003 was deservedly awarded his 1st Dan Black Belt.

Adam's philosophy is to never stop working out or practicing, as he believes a martial artist is only as good as their foundations. He is true to his word: Adam can usually be found at the school late into the evening, after a long day's work, when everyone else has gone home for the night, still pounding the heavy bag and improving his strength and flexibility. He exhibits a dogged determination, and is a living embodiment of the indomitable spirit that many aspire to, but few attain.

Adam modestly says that he does not consider himself to be 'one of the best,' but 'one of the good ones,' which is something of an understatement. "My boxing experience has improved a lot because i have been able to mix it with taekwondo skills," he says. "I am very proud of myself and believe in helping others in training, and correcting their skills.'
